Jim's most recent collaboration was with Manchester fiddle player Andy Dinan.

Andy had a great reputation as a brilliant fiddler and had won top awards in Ireland for his playing. Andy had always wanted to make a trad based album of tunes that were important to him. He had been collecting songs and ideas for years. When he and Jim met they formed an immediate connection and together they planned Andy's dream album.

Jim brought his own influences and arrangements to the project so that as well as the thrilling jigs, reels and polkas of the trad tracks there is also blues, slide guitar and gypsy jazz. Jim also arranged two vocal pieces sung by Andy's daughter Nancy. One of them, Joy Division's Transmission, has attracted much media attention with numerous radio plays, interviews, live performances and the arrangement being used in Peter Hook's concerts featuring Nancy on vocals.

.

The album was recorded in Mike McGoldrick's studio in Manchester. Tragically, soon after the actual recording was completed, Andy died very suddenly before he could get the finished product into his hands. It was up to Jim to push the project through alone and complete it.

There is an added poignancy to the work now as Andy's dream album has turned into his legacy. It's an accomplished piece of work and honours the collaboration between a brilliant, experienced fiddler and the emerging  talent of a creative young guitarist.
